Hospitals prosper when individuals, corporations, and foundations financially support the institutions’ healthcare goals. Today, companies value hospitals as important providers of talent, research, and ideas as much as they value their quality care, technology and services.
Companies connect with CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital because they view it as a very important resource, and they invest in it to ensure that its future is secure.
Corporate Philanthropy: an Investment in CSPF and your Company’s Future
Increasingly, patterns of corporate giving reflect patterns of corporate interest.
For many companies, corporate philanthropy is an integral part of their hospital relations strategy, serving to enhance their reputation with patients, staff and administration. More and more, companies are aligning giving with business goals such as in their search for new technology through partnerships, alliances, and acquisitions. These companies often direct financial support to technology in addition to developing endowment funds specific to a company’s corporate goals.
CHRISTUS St. Patrick Foundation will work with your company to insure your giving supports your strategic business goals while assisting CHRISTUS St. Patrick to meet its primary healthcare responsibility.
What Do Corporations Give?
Gifts from corporations take many forms, often depending on the company’s interests and the hospital’s needs. While some companies give cash unrestricted, others make gifts for specific technology upgrades for various departments, for hospital initiatives, and for special projects. Examples of gifts from corporations include:
- Unrestricted funds for areas of greatest need, which help the Hospital take advantage of opportunities as they arise
- Corporate matching funds
- New building construction or upgrading
- Partnership gifts that assist with operating costs
- Programmatic assistance that help upgrade outreach projects
- Endowments to ensure long-term viability.
- Development of new executive education programs.
- The sponsorship of lectures that bring the experiences of practitioners into the hospital and lecture facilities.
- Gifts of property.
- The Foundation can even assist in the grant process.
The Tax Advantages
CHRISTUS St. Patrick Foundation is a component of CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital, and gifts are deductible on federal tax returns subject to the limits allowed by the Internal Revenue Service (see IRS Code 170). A copy of the letter documenting tax-exempt status is available from the Foundation Office. If you make a gift associated with a product, event or service, the Foundation Office will provide you with the necessary documentation for tax purposes.
The Foundation will track progress and provide annual reports on the application of corporate funds toward stated purposes. Where gifts are part of an endowment arrangement, a full report on the investment of funds will be made.
How to Make a Corporate Gift
